This document outlines the terms governing Eye Vet Consults Teleophthalmology LLC consultation services and associated obligations for both the Client and the Consultant.
Definition of Terms
- A digitally delivered teleophthalmology consultation request, including patient images, medical history, and clinical inquiries, is referred to as a "Request."
- A veterinarian submitting a Request through this service is the "Client."
- A board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist (Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists, DACVO) is referred to as a "Veterinary Ophthalmologist."
- Eye Vet Consults, LLC is designated as the "Consultant."
- The analysis, diagnosis, and recommendations provided by a Veterinary Ophthalmologist Consultant in response to a Request are collectively referred to as a "Consultation."
Scope of Consultation Services
The Consultant provides teleophthalmology consultation services to assist the Client in evaluating veterinary ocular disorders. The Client retains full responsibility for all clinical care decisions, including whether to accept or reject the Consultant's recommendations. The opinions expressed during a Consultation reflect the independent assessment of a single Veterinary Ophthalmologist and do not necessarily represent the views of Eye Vet Consults, LLC, the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists, or the American Board of Veterinary Ophthalmologists.
“Additional Information” is a tool for submitting images and/or text after completion of a consult request and payment. This tool can be found by selecting the “View Details” action button located within the “My Consults” page of the application. Submission of Additional Information can be utilized prior to report finalization. Submission of Additional Information after report finalization will only be evaluated when Additional Information has been requested by the Veterinary Ophthalmologist. In this event, an Addendum to the original report will be created. Unsolicited submissions of Additional Information after report finalization will not be interpreted and should instead be submitted as a new consult request.
Notice
Additional information will be interpreted by the ophthalmologist if:
-This consult report is not yet finalized, OR;
-Additional information is requested by the ophthalmologist
Unsolicited submissions of additional information after report
finalization will not be reviewed or interpreted.
Limitations of Teleophthalmology
Consultations are based on the information and images provided by the Client. The accuracy of the evaluation depends on the quality and completeness of the submitted materials. Teleophthalmology has inherent limitations, and in certain cases, it cannot substitute for in-person diagnostic examinations, such as slit-lamp biomicroscopy and binocular indirect ophthalmoscopy. When appropriate, Clients are encouraged to seek in-person patient evaluations with a Veterinary Ophthalmologist.
Image Submission Requirements
The Client acknowledges that the quality of the images provided directly impacts the Consultant’s ability to assess the case. The Client is responsible for ensuring that submitted images are clear and representative of the condition being evaluated. Fees for Consultation services will apply regardless of the diagnostic utility of the submitted images. The Consultant reserves the right to request additional images if necessary.
Use of Images for Educational and Promotional Purposes
Unless the Client explicitly opts out, the Consultant may use anonymized case images for educational or promotional purposes, including social media and professional presentations. Any identifying information, including patient names and owner details, will be removed to maintain confidentiality. Clients who do not wish for their images to be used should provide written notice to the Consultant by contacting info@eyevetconsults.com.
Payment Terms
Consultation services are billed at the current advertised rate at the time of service. The Client is responsible for all associated fees, and failure to make payment will result in service termination.
Service Termination Policy
Either the Client or the Consultant may choose to terminate services at any time for any reason. If services are terminated, the Client remains responsible for any outstanding charges incurred prior to termination.
Payment Methods
Clients may choose between the following payment options:
- Pay Now: Clients may submit payment at the time of Request submission via credit card. Payments are processed immediately, and no invoice will be issued.
- Pay Later: Clients may opt to have their Request(s) billed monthly. Invoices will be issued to the Client's designated email address on the 1st of each month with payment due 30 days after issuance. Clients with a payment delinquency extending beyond 2 billing cycles may encounter service termination until their invoice balance(s) is settled.
Modification of Terms
The Consultant reserves the right to update, modify, or revise these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will become effective upon posting the updated terms on our website. Clients are responsible for reviewing the Terms and Conditions periodically to stay informed of any updates. Continued use of the services after modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
